One of my blogging friends got me onto this website. And, on this website there is an article about being a fat or should I say an overweight Mom. And really, I know this is how I feel. I need to get the baby weight off. NO excuses.
Read the article here.
I swear I am the ONLY one of my friends and family that struggle with this issue. I think the majority of my family and friends lose the weight like a super model. Here I am, 10 months later and in the same spot (well a BIT lighter) as I was when I had Caroline. I swear with each birth, and each year I age, the harder it is for ME to lose the weight. Breastfeeding makes me hungry. And so, I eat. period. I know when I am done nursing, the weight will come off. And, spring will have sprung already. Much easier to get motivated!

This article couldn't have been timelier. I've just been sitting here, noshing on some tasty (but evil!) girl scout cookies and contemplating the serious vastness that is my booty despite having Ainsley 10 months ago now.
So here's to feeling better about ourselves when we start getting fitter. But also feeling better about ourselves when we are the "fat" mom (which I personally believe you are NOT, but that's just me).
Cathy, as you read in my blog I have been struggling to lose the weight!!! This article is it all, I'm telling you! But like you say when nursing, I am HUNGRY!! I hope to join the dieting bandwagon once Karina is weaned ... I wish you well with it!!
Oh Cathy, thank you! I was looking at pictures of me with the kids from the weekend and felt like crying. I should be so happy because I gave birth to two precious little beings... within a minute of each other... but the last year has taken a toll on my body.
The birth center (a midwife-run hippie American alternative to doctor care) gave me a recommendation to this website to help get me back in running shape:

LOVE IT. I ran/walked an hour yesterday. Watched tons of families biking on the same path and promised myself I would be ONE HOT MAMA.
PS I keep meaning to respond to another blog post... I think people are born organized! I have always been organized. All my Nancy Drew books were organized by title, not number!
Sara: Thank you! And, I thank you for what you have said! I hope you listen to your own words too! They are wonderful!
Yvonne: Thank you, and you too! I know you can do it too! We just have to give ourselves time to get over having these babies!!
Laura: Thank you for that link! I am going to check it out. I am too plagued by my own image. I hardly have any photos of myself (with Cliff or the kids) I keep saying "when I lose the baby weight" and still here I sit...I am glad you got out for a run! I bet you felt WONDERFUL. I miss running so bad. I guess if I have to run at night. That is what I will have to do to get the job done! I want to be a hot mom too! Cheers to us both!!
Cheers to ALL of us who want to be HOT MOM's!! Should we start a group blog about it??? Then we can all author into it?!
Anybody else feel this way??? There have got to be more than just us right?! *hugs*
I can relate. My pregnancy was different from most in that my appetite actually decreased, a lot! However days after I gave birth, my appetite came back in full force AND THEN SOME! I lost my pregnancy weight within a couple of weeks, but then proceeded to GAIN weight. Now I've been stuck at the same weight for a few months, and I'm going to the gym and don't eat as much since I'm not breastfeeding. So I'm feeling a bit discouraged as I'm exercising but still not losing weight. I need some motivation to eat less and eat better.
Wendy: Just keep it up!! I know you will do it! Hormonal shifts after a baby are just crazy! They say (who are they anyways) say 1 year on, one year to take it off. Still not happening for me yet!!
Good for you for getting out to exercise! That must feel good atleast?!
